About

Pleh.info is a personal site made with the purpose of preventing reverse engineering solutions I've come across in the past.

As most of you I've had plenty of moments where I was certain I did something before but couldn't recall exactly how with the result that I'd have to redo all the work. With this site I want to prevent such situations by properly documenting things I come across.

Who I am?

I'm Bart, born in '82 living in The Netherlands. I work as a system & network engineer for the Dutch government in the work and income sector.

During my work I come across some nice projects, luckily mostly Open Source and Unix related! These projects range from complete platform or network migrations to simple web applications.

A really versatile job that I enjoy, it allows me to execute my hobby at work :-)

The name Pleh.info

The name is based on the awesome knowledge that “help” in reverse is “pleh” and I want to use the site for sharing information which made the domain .info a pretty obvious choice.

On top of that it’s a nice bridge towards the purpose of Pleh.info, which is preventing reverse engineering of solutions I’ve found in the past.

Content you can expect

As you might have guessed, I have a technical background so all the content will be aimed at technology. The topics you'll be able to see on this site are mostly aimed at Open Source, Unix (OSX, BSD, Linux, etc.) and networking.

And here's an overview of the content types you'll find:

  • Blog: News, opinions, site updates, etc. This could be anything really.
  • Links: A page where you can find links to allot of different subjects. (BSD, Linux, Networking, etc.)
  • Wiki: Well, the entire site actually is a wiki but this page allows you to browse the wiki specific content. 1)

License

The entire site is under the CC Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license.

In general this means that you can use the information on this site anyway you'd chose. I would however appreciate a reference link back to this site if you chose to republish the works.

Thanks in advance :)
